No long tutorials, no intrusive onboarding. You open it and it's already magnifying the world.

Open the app
You'll see the live camera at 1x zoom with the flashlight on by default.

Pinch to zoom
Or use the slider at the bottom. We squeeze out the maximum zoom your phone can give! Plus extra digital zoom!

Tap to focus
Three modes available: auto, manual tap, or locked.

Flashlight as you like
Tap the lightning bolt to turn on or off. Useful in low-light conditions.

Switch cameras
Toggle between rear and front camera with a tap.

Capture a photo
Saved to your local gallery, in the
Pictures/ArdiLupa/folder. -
Close when done
✕ button top-right. The app closes completely, with no background processes.

Is it really free?
Yes. Completely free with no in-app purchases. No "Pro" version, no paywall, no data collection, no ads. It's that simple, and it will stay that way.
Does it really work without internet?
Yes, 100%. In fact, the app doesn't even request internet permission from the Android system, so it's technically incapable of connecting. Not just a promise — it's an architectural guarantee. Our App has been programmed to be INCAPABLE of connecting to the internet.
Why does it need camera access?
Because the camera is the magnifier. It's the only thing it needs to magnify the real world around you. There's no other use of the camera beyond showing it enlarged on your screen.
Does it store my photos on any server?
No. If you take a photo, it's saved to your own local gallery, in the
Pictures/ArdiLupa/ folder, and you can view it in your trusted Photos app. We don't see your photo, we don't upload it anywhere, we don't process it. Everything happens inside your phone, nothing goes to the internet. Your Photo is only yours.Is the app only for older people?
Not at all. Although ArdiLupa is especially useful for those with tired eyesight or low vision, its main users are technicians who need to see something small better: professionals in electronics, jewelry, sewing, crafts, nature, and the generally curious.
Does it work with TalkBack and screen readers?
Yes, completely. At Carnegie Corp and at New Consciousness Foundation, we care deeply about people with vision difficulties. That's why every button announces its function and current state. Ardi Lupa meets the most rigorous ADA (USA), EAA (Europe), and LBI (Brazil) standards. Accessibility is not an extra: it has been part of our design from the very beginning.
